Dog Bed Mini Guide

Mini Guide

Buying a dog bed for your dog is something you want to get right. For your dog’s comfort and your peace of mind you want to know what you are buying for them is going to last.

The first thing to think about is how big your dog is and how much space you have for your dog bed. This will help you establish whether a round bed or raised bed would work.

Also think about what your dog needs for example additional comfort and support with maturity, joint issues or anxiety.

Here is our mini guide to dog beds to help you get started.

VET BED

Vet Bed is a great product. It features a non-slip rubber back to prevent slips. It washes really well and dries super quick making it great for puppies.  It also works well for dogs that like to chew, it has no stuffing, so most dogs don’t try to destroy it.

ORTHOPEDIC BEDS

These beds are specially designed for older dogs or dogs with joint problems. The special foam keeps their back straight and supports them all over. Your pet will not sink through these to the floor either.

RAISED BEDS

Raised beds are also good for dogs with joint problems as the bed supports their weight and takes the strain off joints. As they are raised off the floor it keeps draughts away, if your dogs are on a cold floor it will keep them much warmer too as the cold floor cannot penetrate the bed. They can be used it outdoor kennels too.

DUVETS

Duvets are great for dogs who like to stretch out rather than snuggle up, they also fit well into the bottom of crates and in the boot of your car.

ROUND BEDS

These beds are for snugglers, the high sides help to keep them warmer too.

ANTI ANXIETY BEDS

These beds are designed to help pets who are a little anxious, but they are also a super snuggly comfortable bed for all pets. The long fibres imitate fur which helps your pets feel like they are with another dog. The beds are super filled so your pet sinks in to them making them feel secure.

CRATE PADS

These are designed to fit crates either completely or across some of the crate. Many are waterproof which is great for puppies. The low stuffing is also good for dogs that like to destroy.

OUR TIPS

  • Only cover half of your crate bottom if you have a new puppy. Pups like to have a separate space to go to the loo away from their bed.
  • Use Vet Bed for dogs that like to destroy beds.
  • Use a raised bed if your pets are on a cold floor to keep them warmer.
  • Think about how your dogs likes to sleep before you buy a bed. If they stretch out consider a duvet style bed or a rectangle bed to give them the space they need. If they like to cuddle up then go for a round style, not much bigger than them.
